  •  Every Graduated should leave the college with a Degree in one Hand and a Placement order in other Hand.

 

Aim:   To build a strong placement support to the students.

 

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:

   

  •  Interacting and coordinating with companies to ensure placements for students
  •  Executing and achieving targets in specified time limits
  •  Maintaining students data base to meet placement requirements.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

The HR mentors function together in coordination with the JKCs in AP and under the guidance and monitoring of JKC Monitoring Cell interact with potential companies and get them to conduct campus drives in colleges. The HR Mentors provide an effective and efficient service to ensure that JKC students are placed into the most reliable, secure and steadily developing companies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • To facilitate the appropriate placement of students in IT & ITeS sectors
  •  To take into consideration the interests and needs of students and find suitable placements.
  •  To interact with company personnel in a positive, confident, efficient and effective way and win placements for students
  •  To make accurate entries in the JKC database to ensure all placements are duly recorded for immediate references.
  •  To keep in constant touch with JKC Monitoring Cell at all times regarding issues relating to secure placements
  •  To work as a team player and contribute to the well being of the organization
  •  To undertake placement duties, on a regular basis, and to be prepared to work  outside of normal office hours
  •  To regularly provide advice, guidance and assistance to students regarding their career choice and competitive work environment.
  •  To maintain and uphold the image of JKC and strive to meet the expectations of the CCE while performing the assigned tasks.
  •  To assist and coordinate with the Principals and coordinators during campus drives in colleges.
  •  To assist in the preparation of statistical information and reports as required
  •  To maintain a calm, dignified and professional attitude at the office and while interacting with companies.

HR Mentor for students

  •  Every company is in need of hard working and talented youngsters and so students need to be motivated to aim for the opportunities available in the present job market. This is the main aim of a mentor of JKC.
  •  HR Mentors take classes frequently to energize and inspire students of every batch in every college.
  •  Observe and monitor students’ performance and record and evaluate the progress of students.
  •  Collecting Feedback from students:

     1) Problems faced in the JKC centers.

     2) Requirements needed

     3) Students’ need for additional study material and other facilities in JKCs

     4) Evaluation of teaching methodology and need for additional Interactive sessions

  • Bringing students’ problems and issues to the notice of the Commissioner and CIO.
  • Visit at least two or three colleges in a week.
  • Give suggestions to the students regarding their career.
  • To be in constant touch with superiors and  submit reports on HR Mentor activities.

 

Duties from placement point of view

 

  • Collect companies’ details and their requirements and study and discuss the possibility of meeting their requirements.
  • Need to gather the information and details of companies etc from Internet, newspapers, news channels fax and phones.
  • Approach companies and take appointment from company’s authorized person. Plan a schedule to meet and submit the findings to JKC Monitoring cell regularly.
  • Discussion  with Companies and the need to impress upon them the positive aspects of JKCs

o   About JKC activities.

o   Needs and opportunities

o   Providing facilities to the students under JKC.

o   Preparing Schedules to conduct campus recruitments.

o   Offers and requirements.

  • Convince them and invite them to conduct campus drives in the JKCs
  • Press statements and advertisements through various modes to inform JKC students about campus interviews.
  • Campus drives only for JKC students.
  • Proper training and confidence to students and help them to face interviews boldly.
  • Conducting recruitment drives every six months.
  • Ensuring that each and every student enters a reliable company at the right time.
  • Establish rapport and support pupils as well as companies.

 

 DATA COLLECTION:

 

  •  Identify and record the Information from companies, Factories and also consultancies etc…
  •  Collecting information from various modes like Internet, news papers, news channels and through FAX and phones.

 

Build a strong placement support for students of JKCs and organization.

 

PLANNING

Consulting the companies:

Organizers need to first approach Job Fair is a mega event arranged to facilitate fast track recruitment. Job Fair helps companies find the best talents in each field from various major cities of the world. In a Job Fair, many recruiting organizations meet prospective candidates from the city/ surrounding regions, where the fair is taking place. The targets of most Job Fairs are to procure the best human potential from among fresh candidates in all business facets. The Job Fair provides ideal ways to interact with young people on an informal basis. In most Job Fairs, the organizers operate separate registrations for people with different levels of experience, and the participating companies also provide categorized dealing for each level of candidates.

 

Process:

All organizations represent themselves with a promotion stand, where they provide more information about their company, explain the application procedures and career opportunities and even invite students in final year of study, for an interview. Students on the other hand, get the opportunity to walk around, ask questions and even hand in their CV.

The positions offered in Jobs Fair are usually in Sales & Marketing, Healthcare, Information Technology, BPO, Banking, Communications, Insurance, Finance, Management, Retail, Administration and Medical Transcription etc.

 

 Steps to Planning a Jobs Fair Effectively:

        The organizers need to start working on the Job fair at least one month in advance in order to plan and organize the event.

  • The success of the whole process depends on the organization and formation of sub committees to facilitate the smooth flow of the task: help desk, registration, discipline, hospitality, web, advertisement, mailing, food, and recruiting.

 

  • Different sectors like Healthcare, Information Technology, Sales & Marketing, Finance, Banking, Pharma, Management, Retail, Administration and   Call Centers etc to find out their need for skilled personnel.
  • A formal invitation requesting their active & positive participation is drafted and sent to all reliable companies in need of skilled manpower.

 

  • A list comprising the names of participating companies along with their job profile, its needs and what positions are open selection procedures and salary package is prepared and displayed on the website by the web committee.

Fixing the schedule:

  •  After completion of discussions with the companies, organizers will fix the schedule taking into considerations the availability of HR persons of participating companies
  • Date and venue of the Job Fair is selected and in most cases, a Sunday is chosen as it is convenient for the candidates attending the drive.

 

Taking permission from concerned authorities

  • The organizers shall file a request for the conduct or Jobs fair in writing, with the regional office, at least ten working days before the schedule date of the jobs fair enclosing their with the list of employers and agencies intending to participate in the jobs fair with copies of license, registration certification and job orders/ vacancies.
  • The request should indicate the proposed date and venue of the jobs fair.
  • Organizers shall take permission from the police department and Municipality.

 

IT Services

  • The web committee is responsible for maintaining the career fair’s website and all the registration information that needs to be retrieved or updated.
  • The committee looks into the online registration process and maintains the database of eligible candidates.
  • The committee’s data gives the organizers an idea of the number of candidates likely to participate in the recruitment drive and the Arrangement committee will make the necessary arrangements.

 

IMPLEMENTATION

Organizing Committee at the Venue

  • Allot space/booth to each participating company and paste appropriate labels showing their name, requirements and selection procedures outside their rooms
  • Recruiting companies shall be requested not to encroach on other’s space and shall remain within the space assigned.
  • Display in the exhibition area the site/room plan for the job fair, the location of different companies along with directions to reach them
  • Facilities should be provided for supply of pure drinking water
  • Well maintained toilet facilities should be arranged for all
  • Appropriate safety measures to be followed to avoid personal injury and property damage.       

During the Job fair

  •  Organizing committee shall be present at the venue two hours before the commencement of the jobs fair.
  •  Re-check the arrangements before commencing the Job fair.
  •  Guiding the company HR teams to allotted places.
  •  Help Desk helps the candidates reach the recruiting company of their choice.

After the Job fair

  • Consult companies to know the status of selected candidates in the Job fair.
  • Appreciate the services and support of all committees involved in the jobs fair.
  • Record the details of Placements for future reference.

Maintain data base of the students of JKCs.

  • The database of the students is centralized at JKC Monitoring cell the data is retrieved as per the need of the companies.
  • It is a very efficient method to make selected candidates who have more than 60percent or belonging to different streams as per the company requirements.

Interact and coordinate with companies / industries to ensure placements for students trained in JKC.

  • Contact with the concerned HR person based on requirements of the companies.
  • If companies have the requirements and JKC HR make ensure the placements for JKC trained students.

Visiting each JKC allotted to HR-Team at least once in a month.

  • Each HR-Team visiting the JKCs in a month for collecting information about JKC activity in that month and to know about the student’s position.

        Interacting with the students, guiding and motivating them with regard to placement opportunities

 

  • Interacting with students very closely to give them valuable suggestion for their career development by using with our previous experiences.
  • Explaining the interview process, how to face interview, choose the best and suitable job for themselves.
  • In rural areas students having good potentiality in subject but coming to communication skills there are not up to the mark of company expectations because of phobias.
  • Mentors have to recognize the students those who are beyond the communication skills and sharpen the skills with the available equipments. 
  • Students confidence level should be improve to face the interview as well as to get the offer letters from the companies.

 

        Taking steps to improve and further strengthen the working of JKCs in coordination with the coordinator and the principal .           

  • Motivating Poor of the poorest students to have awareness of JKC training and placements.
  • We have to conduct campus drives nodal wise and collect feedback from the Students, Coordinators, principal and Company HRs.
  • Using with this feedback we can implement our new thoughts to improve JKCs.
  • Introducing new course which are useful to the students to buildup their career and companies presently demanded in the global market.

 

  Maintaining a student data base and updating it during visits to the JKCs

 

  • By conducting mega job fairs in A.P. CCE introduced online registration system to JKC registered students with the help of coordinators and mentors. 
  • Online registration restricted to attend the Non-JKC students in our fairs. 
  • Through online registration system JKCMC have overall database of students from 10th to degree percentages up to now. The same data is very much useful to companies with their required estimations. 
  • HR Team have database of JKC Students with colleges and group wise.
  • With this database we are consulting company HRs to know the strength & capabilities of our JKC students. 
  • HRs categories students into three levels which will be useful to company requirements. ( Top levels MNCs to domestic companies)
